UGA bass anglers are hooked on success

In 2014, the bass anglers club at Georgia brought home the national championship and seemed poised for future success in the sport. In 2016, the team is working to rebuild a program from scratch that collapsed following that championship season.

After winning the national championship, the majority of members from the 2014 team graduated that same year, leaving the club with very few members and support.

The 2016 club has compiled just over 20 members and hopes to have continued growth in the coming years. They have faced adversity, not only in reviving membership following the exodus in 2014, but also from the club sports program at UGA. Club Sports allocated the minimum amount of funds to the team, in addition to enforcing the restrictions in place for using trademarked UGA logos on jerseys alongside outside sponsors, according to sophomore club president Jordan Parisian.

Under the leadership of Parisian, the rest of the officer board and team is working to make up for this lack of funding with the support of outside sponsors.
