High school angler becomes Eagle Scout

Kinzer earns rank of Eagle

Tracy D. Kinzer, a member of Mason-Dixon Council Troop 252 in Hagerstown, was honored this spring at a court of honor for achieving the Eagle Scout Award, Boy Scouting’s highest honor.

Tracy is the son of Tony and Jennifer Kinzer of Boonsboro. He is a member of Benevola United Methodist Church, where he did his Eagle Scout project.

With assistance from the cemetery committee, Tracy planned, designed and led the construction of a serenity terrace at the crest of the church cemetery. The terrace was constructed with red and gray patio pavers, and two benches were anchored on the patio to allow people to sit and reflect.

Tracy began his Scouting experience in the fall of 2008 as a Cub Scout in Pack 26, Boonsboro. He received the Arrow of Light in spring 2013 and was presented with the Super Achiever award for Webelos.
