HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS: KHSAA announces special dead period
The threat of the COVID-19 virus brought an abrupt and very disappointing end to the high school basketball season in Kentucky earlier this week.
The fate of spring prep sports in the state, though, appears to still be unknown at this time.
The Kentucky High School Athletic Association announced a dead period for all sports and sports-related activities on Friday. The prohibition will run through Sunday, April 12.
A press release stated that, “At this point, there are no plans to cancel state championship play in the spring sports and sport-activities of baseball, softball, tennis, track and field, archery, bass fishing or esports, but that obviously merits consideration, even with potentially abbreviated seasons. There is also no current consideration to seeking alternate locations or dates for sports state championship play beyond the currently scheduled dates.”…Full Story
