Lake Hamilton sophomore angler to compete in All-American tournament

PEARCY — Lake Hamilton sophomore Karson Hamilton was among just a dozen high school students selected from 465 applicants in 38 states to become members of the exclusive Bassmaster High School All-American Fishing Team.

A first panel chose 64 applicants as Bassmaster All-State anglers. A second panel reviewed tournament resumes, community service activities and recommendations from coaches and school officials to select the All-American team from the All-State anglers.

The 2017 team included Reese Jones, from Rogers, and Bryer Pennington, from Prescott. The rest of the team included students from Alabama, Illinois, Missouri, New York, South Carolina and Tennessee, as well as two from both Louisiana and Texas.

Hamilton received the notification via email during a tournament in which he placed seventh out of more than 40 entries. He is the son of Brad and Cindy Hamilton….Full Story
