Tennessee B.A.S.S. Nation holds high school tournament

Several Sumner County schools fish Old Hickory tournament

The first stop of the Tennessee BASS Nation Central Region High School/Junior trail tournament season took place on Saturday, September 14, 2019 on Old Hickory Lake.  The tournament, held at Bull Creek Access/Flipper’s hosted 137 high school boats and 37 junior boats from across Middle Tennessee.

Tennessee BASS Nation High School and Youth Fishing is a relatively new organization in the state of Tennessee.  It allows youth, grades 2-12, the opportunity to learn about bass fishing while competing in tournaments across the state.  Student anglers have the opportunity to win scholarship money at each of over 25 tournaments across the state, and earn a spot at the BASS High School and Youth National Championships each year.  Competitive bass fishing is the fastest growing sport in the state of Tennessee, it promotes good sportsmanship and team- work on and off the water…Full Story
