Texas high school anglers grateful for successful season

Local Anglers Have Much To Be Thankful For

Unbelievably we have just finished the Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays, as well as the Fall Fishing Season. There are many local Fishermen and Women that have much to be Thankful for going into the Spring.

To start with, the Montgomery I.S.D. Fishing Team has much to be grateful for. Mainly, that all 77 members of the team are participating in something larger than themselves, and they are representing the residents of Montgomery in stellar fashion. As of this writing, the team is in 2nd Place out of 42 local High Schools in the Houston Division of the Texas High School Bass Association. There will be two more Conference Tournaments during the Spring, then the Regional & State Tournaments as well.

The Team is also very thankful for the individuals and companies that played a key role in the Annual Benefit Tournament, in which the majority of the proceeds go back to expenses of the Team. Most notably, Stow-A-Way Marina, Ron Hoover Marine, TDL Construction, Russell Construction, and McCaulley Lumber. Through their generous donations, First Place of Three Thousand Dollars was guaranteed. The event drew some “salty” anglers that competed, all the while raising money for the M.I.S.D.
